Dry-fruit hamper storage: keep the label with the gift
After a dry-fruit hamper is unwrapped, its food labels are still useful. Keep them with the jars or packs rather than discarding them with the decorative wrapping. The practical question is not simply how long dry fruits usually last, but how the food you received should be stored.

Read the date alongside the storage conditions
FSSAI’s Eat Right India guidance tells consumers to check manufacture and expiry or best-before dates, and read storage instructions covering where to keep a product and for how long. Check both parts of the label. A printed date should not be treated as a promise that food will keep under any conditions.
Check again when you open a pack
Look for instructions that apply after opening. NSW Food Authority explains that directions such as refrigeration or a stated period after opening need to be followed for the food to keep as intended. Those are examples, not universal instructions for every dry-fruit pack. Use the directions on your actual product; do not borrow a storage duration from another brand or assortment.

Pass the information on with the gift
If you separate jars for different recipients, keep the relevant food information with each one. If you move food into another container, retain its original label. Noting when you opened a pack can help you follow any after-opening instruction; it does not replace the printed date.
